The OKI Regional ITS Architecture is a roadmap for transportation systems integration in the the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments’ tri-state area over the next 10 or more years. The OKI Regional ITS Architecture has been developed through a cooperative effort by the region’s transportation agencies, covering all surface transportation modes in the region.

This 2022 OKI Regional ITS Architecture update was developed by reviewing the 2016 OKI Regional ITS Plan document — that included a regional ITS architecture. It also established an ITS architecture committee to discuss existing and proposed ITS projects in the region. The committee conducted outreach that included conducting an online stakeholder survey — to gather feedback regarding existing and future ITS technology and projects. The committee also prioritized common transportation needs that could be addressed using ITS technologies.

This OKI Regional ITS Architecture documents how stakeholders envision that each agency’s systems will work together in the future and how that sharing of information and resources will help provide a safer, more efficient, and more effective transportation system for travelers in the region.
